Shipping & Delivery
The “Ultra-Short Supply Chain” Philosophy
At Il SommOlier, the quality of extra virgin olive oil is our absolute priority.
To ensure that every bottle arrives on your table exactly as it was conceived, we have chosen a direct logistics model: from the mill straight to your home.
Our oils are not stored in intermediate warehouses. When you place an order, the request is sent directly to the producer, who selects the bottles from their temperature-controlled cellar and prepares the shipment specifically for you.
This guarantees maximum freshness, preservation of polyphenols, and complete protection from thermal stress.
Order Processing & Delivery Times
Processing: Orders are prepared within 24–48 business hours from receipt.
Delivery: Shipments are handled by national express couriers. Delivery generally takes 2–4 business days throughout Italy (islands and remote areas may require an additional 24 hours).
Shipping Costs & Free Shipping
Each producer featured on Il SommOlier manages their own shipments to ensure the highest level of care in packaging.
Standard Shipping: Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the selected producer.
Free Shipping: Shipping is FREE for all orders over €100.00 per individual producer.
Important Note for Mixed Orders (Multi-Producer Orders)
Since each producer ships from their own location (e.g., one oil from Tuscany and another from Puglia), if your cart contains products from different producers:

You will receive separate shipments (which may arrive on different days).

Shipping costs (and the €100 free-shipping threshold) are calculated separately for each producer.
Example:
If you purchase €110 of products from I&P and €40 from another producer, shipping for I&P will be free, while the standard shipping rate will apply to the second producer.
Secure Packaging
We exclusively use certified packaging (polystyrene bottle protectors or reinforced cardboard boxes with internal honeycomb protection) specifically designed for transporting glass bottles.
This protects your oil from accidental impacts and temperature fluctuations during transit.
Assistance & Breakage
In the rare event that a package arrives damaged:

Accept the delivery “with reservation” or refuse it if the damage is clearly visible and there is liquid leakage.

Take photos of the package and contents.

Il SommOlier will personally handle the issue, ensuring an immediate replacement or a full refund while managing the claim directly with the producer.
You won’t have to worry about anything.
